My Overall Thoughts… MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS!

I rated “Trillium #1” by Jeff Lemire as 4.5 out of 5 stars. Very well written graphic novel that I was not expecting to like so much but thankfully did. Science fiction is not one of my favorite genres and I would have never picked up Trillium series on my own, it was given to me by my boss to read; I am so glad he decided to loan it to me and I will probably buy my own copy so I can loan it to others and read it again in the future.

First and foremost, I loved the uniqueness of this graphic novel, having to turn the book upside down to read some of it was fun. The shift between time, space, and the characters’ lives was so well done, I was not confused, everything made sense but with enough originality that I wasn’t able to guess the conclusion. As always, I’m a sucker for love stories and I felt that the one portrayed between Nika and William was beautiful. Absolutely heartbreaking when they were separated and searching for each other, really pulled on my heartstrings!

Thank you Jeff Lemire for an original Sci-fi graphic novel that is executed phenomenally and has a very unique art style that fits the story perfectly. Highly recommend this graphic novel for a quick, enjoyable read.
