7 Fair Things about Chuck Palahniuk Fight Club 2

(MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS)

1. Graphic Novel

I like that Chuck Palahniuk decided to do a graphic novel for the sequel to Fight Club. And mind you, Fight Club the BOOK is what we are talking about, not the movie. Although the movie was awesome! Anyways, I really enjoyed that Palahniuk choose to do something slightly different than just a novel. And when it comes to Fight Club 2, I think the visuals are really important to understand the story. Tyler Durden approves!

2. The Cover Art

Have you seen the cover art?! It is wonderful! Seriously, it is one of the coolest covers I’ve ever seen and again, it fits so perfectly with what Fight Club is actually about. The cover really portrays how sinister “the other” personality is especially to the original host.

3. Tyler Durden

‘Nuff said.

4. Chuck Palahniuk

While many people think self-insertions and cameos are narcissistic, I enjoy them. It is a fun way for the author to interact with their audience a bit more. I appreciated Chuck Palahniuk’s self-insertion, it allowed the audience to see that even the author knows that Fight Club 2 is absurd and wacky.

5. There’s a Book?!

Love that Chuck Palahniuk can poke fun that most fans don’t know about Fight Club the book. Most fans became fans watching the movie without ever realizing that it was a book first.

6. Artwork

The artwork in graphic novels can either make it or break it for me. I really enjoy graphic novels and comics but the artwork used has to be aesthetically pleasing or else no matter how good the story is, I won’t read it.

7. Marla Singer, the Crazy Bitch

I don’t know why I like Marla so much. Perhaps I simply admire her guts and crazy ideas. I mean who the hell replaces someone’s psychiatric medication with aspirin?!
