10 Exciting Things about The Complete Book of Essential Oils and Aromatherapy by Valerie Ann Worwood

1. Complete

Seriously, I cannot think of anything about essential oils that this book is  missing! At almost 700 pages, this book covers so much information that no other book on essential oils is needed.

2. Clear

Worwood presents all information and directions clearly.

3. Organized

This book is organized very well. Separated into chapters about germ defense, pet care, health concerns, etc.; chapters are clearly labeled and self-explanatory.

4. Choices

Valerie Worwood does a fine job of offering different choices of oils to use in each area discussed. This helps when you are more sensitive to certain oils or just don’t like some of them.

5. Others

I love that Worwood reminds readers to take other people into consideration, their scent preferences, their scent sensitivities. Smell affects a whole room usually so pay attention to the needs and allergies of other adults, children, or pets!

6. Safety

Worwood notes oils that are unsafe for consumption, when a skin patch test is advisable, oils that should be avoided during pregnancy and while breast-feeding and/or other precautionary advice.

7. GRAS

Essential oils that meet the requirements if the United States Food and Drug Administration are labeled as GRAS status “Generally recognized as safe for their intended use”

8. Therapeutic

Therapeutic properties and uses are listed out for each essential oil. This allows you to either search through the book for the specific ailment you wish to treat and find out what oils to use or to look up the oils you have on hand and if they can be used for that ailment.

9. Uses

My favorite thing about this book are the many uses of essential oils listed. While I would not use oils on animals or babies, I really enjoy using essential oils in my cleaning products and beauty supplies. And therefore, I appreciate that this book did not limit itself to only ailment relief/alternative medicine.

10. Blends

Valerie Worwood is so very helpful, listing what essential oils blend well with each other.
